Default Yahoo ignoring my site

Hi

My onpage optimization seems to be good. My site was in the top 10 in MSN but dropped to the page 2. I am waiting for MSN to update its cache so that my site could go back up in the top 10. Why is Yahoo ignoring me? My site is a mixture of directory of financial websites and information about mortgage, loans etc so there is a lot of content, lots of articles. Like I said, my onpage optimization is great.

I registered my domain back in November 2005. Does this mean that ageing can be an issue here? How many backlinks should I have in order to have any rankings in Yahoo search result. My site does appear on number 1 spot of a not-so-important keyword but doesn't do anything for the keyword I am trying to target.

The sites I am seeing are crap and are ranked well.

What gives......

Hi Ivana

I have suffered the same fate, my domain was registered back in 1999, has thousands of quality old backlinks and is pure content. Yet while Google and MSN place my site in #1 for many search phrases Yahoo is burying my site for those exact same phrases. People are complaining about Google's search algo, but Yahoo is having much more serious issues.

Hope it will be OK.

It seems like MSN is also have some serious issues. It has been 15 days since they last updated their cache of my website and I have done tons of changes in the meanwhile.

I haven't been able to understand teh workings of these search engines

Buddy, don't get upset, Fifteen days between a cache update isn't that big of a deal. SE's sometimes only update some sites once a month or less. It all depends upon the thinking of the guys managing the search engines.

Ok, what you want to convey is that I should sit and relax and wait some more. I am actually worried becuase I kept on reading that MSN updates the cache real quick but then again, why is it pushing my site further down the results?

Is your competition waiting?? I doubt it...if they are that's two not business inclined people.

Listen business does not survive waiting for a free ride. Those who get them are lucky and if it all their business is built on is search engines, then when the search engines have an issue, they are out of business and crying.

Is this a business model you wish to emulate?

Three words to live by for businesspeople. Pay to advertise

Business have been very sucessful doing the above for several hundred years prior to free ride on search engines being born.

good luck -- This message may have been cut off and the rest will only be shown to members. To become a member, click here --

I think u have hit the nail on the head.

I see that MSN is ignoring my site because it's not updating the cache but Yahoo is. Still, no rank in Yahoo. I am thinking that I should submit my site in Yahoo Directory.

Anyhow, thanks all for the precious insights. -- This message may have been cut off and the rest will only be shown to members. To become a member, click here --
