SoftLayer, a Texas-based internet service provider, yesterday announced that it has deployed cPanel update servers on the network inside its datacenter to accelerate cPanel installations and updates.
The company claims that the cPanel provides a management interface for Linux and BSD servers. The addition of the cPanel update servers directly addresses a portion of SoftLayer's customer base. One out of every four servers deployed at SoftLayer utilizes cPanel. SoftLayer's portfolio of onsite update servers already supported systems and applications from Microsoft, Redhat, McAfee and others.
