Webmail.us, a provider of email hosting services, today announced that it has engaged Rackspace, a provider of managed hosting services, to help design, develop and deploy a new infrastructure to power the company's email hosting platform.
Our email hosting system is now more than 175 servers and we're adding close to a dozen per month. By hiring Rackspace to handle infrastructure operations and server management, we have built an architecture that can sustain our growth and enable us to focus on development of email services.
Webmail.us approached Rackspace for help in engineering an alternative hosting environment with many independent clusters of machines, with each cluster dedicated to a single process, such as spam filtering or POP3 and with server and network-level redundancy built into every application.
