DNSPerf, ResPerf and DHCPerf, to deliver performance metrics of domain name services and dynamic host configuration protocol services.
Nominum Inc., a provider of network naming and addressing solutions, yesterday announced three tools, DNSPerf, ResPerf and DHCPerf, to deliver performance metrics of domain name services and dynamic host configuration protocol services.
According to the company, these tools simulate real Internet workloads to provide the insight that carriers need to plan and deploy network services. DNSPerf simulate network conditions by self-pacing the query load. ResPerf simulate caching domain name services. DHCPerf measures the DHCP lease assignments to client computers to determine the performance profile. These three free tools provide the development foundation to safeguard against the fluctuating costs of growing networks.
