SAVVIS Launches SAVVIS Federal Systems, Inc.

SAVVIS, Inc., an IT utility services provider, yesterday announced the formation of SAVVIS Federal Systems, Inc. (SFS), a wholly owned subsidiary of SAVVIS, Inc.

Headquartered in Herndon, Virginia, SFS specializes in the IT needs of the U.S. Federal Government's departments and agencies. SFS will offer the full range of SAVVIS services via its GSA Schedule 70 contract, including hosting, networking, digital content services, managed security services and professional services.

In addition to traditional IT services, SFS is a supplier of IT utility services that offer all the server, storage, and network resources required to run IT applications as an on-demand service. The company said that SFS' initial focus will be on serving federal agencies as a subcontractor to a wide array of prime contractors, particularly those designated as small disadvantaged businesses (SDB) under section 8(a) of the Small Business Act.
