To extend Internet network using AMS-IX.
PEER 1 Network Enterprises Inc, a provider of Internet infrastructure, today announced that the company has extended its Internet network to connect to the new Internet exchange in Europe.
The company says that the new network Point of Presence (POP) also enhances the PEER 1 Content Delivery Network (CDN) powered by the company's RapidEdge technology. Now, PEER 1's CDN clients' web content is cached on servers in Amsterdam in addition to the North American caching servers, allowing European end-users to retrieve content from Amsterdam servers instead of from North America, reducing latency by 80 to 140 milliseconds.
