WSX Hosting Releases Domain Appraisal Service

WSX Hosting, a web hosting service provider, today announced their new Domain Appraisal Service.

The service helps buyers and sellers determine the value of their .biz, .com, .cc, .net, or .org domain. The Domain Appraisal Service is based on a Proprietary Statistical Model that considers 10 characteristics of a domain to estimate it's value and is both realistic and practical. In addition to using the mathematical model, it applies their subjective judgment to every appraisal before arriving at a final value. Customers receive appraisals that are given a fair market value and not an outrageous or overestimated sum.

The appraisers also considers every aspect of the domain to derive a value for the domain. This method is known as the 'hedonic' method. This differs from the 'ad hoc' methods used by other services and it relies on hard data on domain sales over the past several months.
