Switch and Data Expands Chicago Data Center

Expects to triple its data center presence in the Chicago market.


Switch and Data, a provider of Internet exchange and colocation services, yesterday said that it will almost triple its data center presence in the Chicago market.

The expansion continues a push by the company to provide customers with increased colocation and interconnections services, claims the company. The Chicago expansion adds to previous investments the company has made to increase its presence in key markets.

In January 2006, the company expanded its New York City operations, increasing its footprint to 85,000 square feet and implementing advanced 10 Gigabit Ethernet and optical networking capabilities.
