ccTLd expected to be utilized as both a personalized Web address and business marketing tool.
doMEn d.o.o., the official registry operator for the new .ME domain name extension, announced today that .ME is now open for trademark owners to register their marks. It states that .ME is expected to be utilized as both a personalized Web address and as a catchy business marketing tool around the world.
It declares that anyone with a registered trademark or service mark applied for before June 28, 2006 is eligible to apply for a .ME domain. Applications will be accepted until May 20, 2008. If there is only one application for a domain name, the domain name will be awarded to that applicant. If more than one application is received for a name, the competing applications will be sent to auction following the close of the application period, avers the registry.
In addition, all Sunrise registrations require a minimum 5 year registration term. Members
