adding transit provider and BGP setup??

Hi people,
I am renting a rack on a carrier neutral DC and get bandwitdh from a single provider. We don't know how to become RIPE member, setup BGP from multiple providers, etc. So, we are going to use a single transit provider. I want to know, will I be able to add another transit provider and setup BGP using the same IP addresses our current provider will give us in future?

You would need to have an ASN to do BGP. You could use a private ASN number till you negotiate one that was the same from all of your providers but most are unlikely to want to deal with you unless you have your own globally unique ASN. -- This message may have been cut off and the rest will only be shown to members.
