Adsense issue??

Hi all there,
Please explain what exactly AdSense is and how much money I could expect to receive with the thought that I have around 12,000 unique hits a day to the homepage itself per day?

AdSense is very easy to implement and pays per click. Ads shown are geared towards the content of the page they are on.
