I've begun the research of digging through the hundreds of hosting companies out there. My team wants a small information/contact website, so I've been given the "honor" of the design and implementation. Since I've never done this before, I want to make sure I take the right steps.
So far I've checked out Hostway, Hosting Unlimited, and Go Daddy. Since it's a really simple page, bandwidth usage will be low, server space will be low; price won't be too high I'm assuming.
I've been armed with FrontPage for design and aside from domain name registration, will I have to license or register the actual site?
I also wasn't sure if the webserver's OS would make a difference I'll be designing on XP, but if the host is Unix, will it cause a conflict? Or, will the server's OS make a difference where the user browsing the page has XP or Unix?
As you can see, by my n00bian questions, I don't really know where to start but do kno
