Wanting some information on web hosting

I am wanting to start a web site and I need some information...

Let's say that I wanted to start an auction website, not like ebay though. Something custom made. What's the best way to do this? I'm not a software programmer but I how I want the website to operate.

1. What kind of hosting would this require? I'm sure that a regular shared hosting plan would not work.

2. Is is possible to create an "aution" kind of website with frontpage or any other software. If not, how would I do it?

Hi

There are many great scripts which you can install to make such a site. Also you will need to have enough bandwidth as such sites will be getting a lot of traffic since it is aan auction site.
Anyhow, the first thing you need to do is to decide your hosting needs , then if you need to use some free but powerfull script for the use of the site or if you want to let someone program it a custom one which will cost you a lot in that case.
Also the design of the website. Just try to post more information and also if you have any questions then feel free to post them.
