I'm totally sorry for jacking your thread, but I'm sorta out in left field with web hosting too. As I do have a few questions though...

1) After you signed up with a web-host, is it sorta like a free web-page control pannel? (EX: You have your "HTML editor" "File Manger" "Web Builder") will you have someting like that? and what else do you get.

2) If your putting a video on your site, and you have the plug-in for the video already on your webpage, do you just upload your video to the "File Manger", then vola its on there?

Hi buddy, most hosting companies give you a control panel to manage your site and also the file manager thing as well as an ftp access to easily upload files to your site. You will have to enough space and bandwidth for your video files as they will be huge.

Well , I think a web host should offer 100% a control panel so you can manage your account, domains, etc. Some prefer cPanel , some offer good enough custom control panel.
I am not sure about html editor , but I think an online template based site builder is good starting point.
Also a File manager is easy to implement so most web host offer that.

You can upload files with .WMA/.MP3/.AVI and all other extensions.
