Expand Networks Announces Accelerator 7940

Expand Networks, a provider of application acceleration solutions over the WAN, on Tuesday announced a new addition to their Accelerator product family - the Accelerator 7940.

The company says that the Accelerator 7940 is a full featured, 2U rack-mounted high-end appliance with support for large number of remote sites. Running on Expand's recently unveiled Compass Platform, it features a storage capacity of 3 TB, with full RAID redundancy and dual power supplies.

According to Expand Networks, the 7940 was built with scalability and redundancy robust enough to handle an array of critical WAN application acceleration applications. The company addressed the pertinent issue of redundancy with the easy-to-swap drives in the event of malfunctions. Unlike alternative solutions, the 7940 offers a comprehensive, scaleable and high availability solution in a competitively priced appliance form factor.
