SurfControl, a provider of Internet content protection, yesterday announced that its Threat Experts have identified a new batch of malicious e-greeting spam targeting South America with potential for dangerous financial risk due to the nature of the Keylogging spyware associated with this attack.
SurfControl's Threat Analysts have been tracking the spread of malicious code distributed through email greetings card for well over a year now. With the Easter holidays just round the corner, Threat Experts also anticipate a flurry of activity of malicious e-greeting spam as malcode writers and spammers seek to exploit the religious festivities.
The company has been adding the new spam signatures to the SurfControl Email Filter databases to stop fictitious e-greeting spam from reaching inquisitive users.
