Host Department, a webhosting and domain name registration provider, recently announced that the company is going to perform server optimization during the end of March 2006.
The company has prepared six new blade servers series to perform load balancing optimization to all the servers for both Windows and Unix Platforms. The new blade servers are equipped with Dual Intel Pentium Xeon 2.6 GHz and 4 GB Memory. All accounts will be moved automatically to the assigned server. Moving process for may take approximately 3 to 4 weeks to complete for both Windows and Unix Platforms. The process will commence at 00:00 am – 05.00 am PST and will be rotated per server box.
For Windows Platform, Host Department will provide specific servers for Cold Fusion, ASP.NET and Custom Component (CFMX, ASP, PERL and PHP) to accommodate clients' application. While for Unix Platform, the load balancing rule will be emphasized without separating the application server.
