Default limitations imposed????

Hello all,
My host recently imposed a limitation i.e. no writing rights to apache or any other user by default. means, no script using "move/copy" will work. As a result, my few hosted sites that need to upload files will never work. Clients need to call me to chmod the directory to 777, it last like 20 minutes, and then it's back to 644 or 755 again. The security is important, but so is functionality.
Someone else might have an opinion about it.

Default

For security purpose, ask them to run PHPSuExec. That would get rid of the need for 777 permissions and allowing your scripts to write to the folder. That way if someone uses it to deface it can only affect your website. -- This message may have been cut off and the rest will only be shown to members. To become a member, click here --
