Error 1064??

Hello people,
I have a database on mySQLcc. for me, subqueries are not working. Its giving me error 1064. Is it a bug with the DB? Do i need to upgrade MySQL?

If your MySQL Server version is prior to 4.1, subqueries are not supported.
