limiting file openings?

Hello friends,
My server open many many tables. The limit open-files-limit = 1000000 (1.000.000) is the max limit I can set on my linux RedHat Enterprise. How I can set more big value?

I get:
060528 10:04:00 [Warning] Could not increase number of max_open_files to more than 65535 (request: 1004010)
Please give some assistance to sort it out!
