"Access denied for user...."

Hello guys,
While MySQL installation, I hit the "execute" button, and it goes and then when it is "trying to apply security settings" I receive:
#1045 - Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost'
I don't have a firewall running, and I keep hitting "retry" and it does nothing. Selecting "skip", it ends the installation. Any idea of how do I fix this?
