subqueries issue??

Hello all of you,
I have a database on mySQLcc. Subqueries are not working. Is it a bug with the DB and what alternative approach should i take? Do i need to upgrade mySQL?

For MySQL Server version prior to 4.1, subqueries are not supported. Try to upgrade to MySQL Server version 4.1 or higher, or rewrite your queries to avoid the use of subqueries. -- This message may have been cut off and the rest will only be shown to members. To become a member, click here --
