optimizing table!

Hi there,
Can someone answer my query. If I do "create table a like b; insert into a select * from b;", do I need to optimize table b if I know table a is defragmented? Any feedback please? The fragmentation of b does not affect a. Fragmentation happens when holes appear in the table because of deletions and updates. Table a at the unset, will be fresh.
