Default openssl issue.

Hi guys,
i installed the mysql-server-5.0 and the openssl using the command apt-get from the source of ubuntu, but configuring openssl so that mysql support it, t i found: Please not that OpenSSL is no longer enabled by default so you have to rebuild the package yourself to get it work. See changelog.Debian entry from 2004-12-02 for reasons.
Even now MySQL uses YaSSL which is GPLed instead of OpenSSL, the problem persists: It would not be allowed to link LGPLed or other software like PHP to a software that uses GPLed code.
Should i install mysql use the source packege and add the
--with-openssl to support the ssl???????
Please help me.

Yeah, You need to build MySQL from source to get OpenSSL support. It isn't enabled in the binary. Also, specify "configure --with-openssl" when you build. -- This message may have been cut off and the rest will only be shown to members. To become a member, click here --
