how to store the date required?

Hi members,
Using MySQL i wana store the date required for my internet application. The data is copied in from MS Access using a 3rd-party tool. One of the fields on each record is a photo, stored in MySQL as a LONGBLOB. I find trouble retrieving and displaying these images through Java, despite checking almost every link Google gives me.
Could someone provide me with the correct SQL syntax for achieving these two steps?
