read only tables issue!

I need your help as My application is 90% read only and running myisampack on my read only tables, I gain significant disc space. please tell if there are any disadvantages of myisampack? Will I lose performance at all? any idea?

The cpu will go up when using myisampacked tables and some queries go slower due to the fact that more cpu will be needed to process all rows. You will gain speed and the cpu usage is often not that dramatically change.
