unable to connect.

Hello,
I have mysql 4.1 installed, running Mac osx 10.3.9 and using the most current mysql query browsers. I have a software call xampp installed that gives mysql a local host on my computer system the default ip is 127.0.0.1 and username is root. But i am unable to connect to it as the local in not finding it and then crashing. Is there something I'm doing wrong?

Make sure you have a connection to the internet and that the administrator and the query tool are open to the internet, i.e. are not blocked by a firewall. open these and made sure that to use the admin as user name and nothing as password or whatever you changed it to. -- This message may have been cut off and the rest will only be shown to members.
