Error: "Access violation..."

Hi.
i need to install Moveable Type and play with it. I'm using our backup server. I've installed the programs/services/etc. that MT requires.

When I click on the "Startup Variables" option on the left, I get an error box with the message:

"Access violation at 003C1504 in module 'libmysqladmin.dll.' Rest of address 00000010."

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
