trying to connect to mysql using php.

Hi

I have 2 servers

1) mysql and php myadmin

2) IIS/PHP


I am trying to connect to mysql using php.

How do i refer to the mysql server? I know that it is usually localhost if everything is being done on the same server. I have tried using the computer name and the db server name neither seem to work.

I can connect using the same string and localhost on the server with mysql on it.

All you need to do is make sure that the mysql server is listening on a TCP socket ( 3306 ), and then use the IP address instead of "localhost".
