intentional replication delay

hi all,

Does MySQL Replication allow a slave backup server to delay the execution of the binary log by a certain amount of time, say 24 hours, to act as a failsafe time buffer against the accidental destruction of data?

If not, I would recommend this to the MySQL development team as a useful feature.

Don't you know that the binary log now allows you to do point in time recovery? This allows you to recover from any "accidental destruction of data".
