I'm trying to install MySQL 5 on Fedora 4 Linux. Since there is no installation for Fedora, I built my RPM's from source however when I attempt to install them I am told that there is a requirement for perl.
When I install the perl-DBD-MySql RPM it also installs MySQL 4. If this happens then I can't install MySQL 5. When I remove MySQL 4 it also removes perl-DBD.MySQL so I can't install 5.
Is there a way to:
(1) Install perl-DBD-MySQL without having it install MySQL 4? --or-- (2) Delete MySQL4 and leave perl DBD in place? -or- (3) Perhaps I shouldn't use the perl-DBD-MySQL from the Fedora installation, if so then where would I obtain this?
Thanks
