installing Mysql

Hi all

I am new to mysql.my system is LINUx - fedora core 1 version. now i need to download mysql.can anybody tell me which version of mysql is supported for my platform?

also mysql server and client i knew.apart from that, what are the mirrors i need to download? also tell me how to install it and where to install ( means the location . is it in /usr/local or something else).

actually am going to work with perl and mysql.hence ,i need this mysql to be installed in the system.

Visit the mysql.com site. Follow the Developer area and then downloads from there.
You will find versions that run under Linux. There are also installation instructions.
