execution problem!!!!

i installed Mysql database server 4.1. i then went to config and set that up. but on clicking the execute button. it can't seem to start the service on my physical computer. but installing it on my virtual machine, it ran fine. any idea on why it isn't running on the physical machine? -- This message may have been cut off and the rest will only be shown to members.
