getting ERROR 2003 in installing MySQL

I'm trying to install MySQL but getting error 2003

"Can't connect to MySQL server on 'localhost'(10061)"

The 3306 port in configured and it should be the reinstallation problem.
what do you say?

net start mysql

I got this same error and did this same thing as mentioned by 007 from the command prompt, yet I cannot start the instance in MySQL Administrator.

displays the same error!!!!
