Default size of innodb file for mysql

i am having a big trouble with the ever increasing size of innodb file for mysql
the current file size is 3 GB, i deleted lot of data and few tables, but the size is still the same.

is there any way to reduce this size or to compress this data

i was having the same issue, but i found on Mysql forums that there is no way to compress this file. it contains all databases that you run on mysql

there was one way out, but it was tooo difficult to proceed with, so i left the idea -- This message may have been cut off and the rest will only be shown to members. To become a member, click here --

there is no official way
one easy method is to convert tables to MyISAM

and then

Re install MYSQL

Convert the MYISAM tables back to INNODB.

I hope this helps. i had same trouble with my MYSQL database and i had to go through this process. -- This message may have been cut off and the rest will only be shown to members. To become a member, click here --
