I think saying that page rank has nothing to do with your ranking is a very bold statement, that do not agree with.

And while we have dozens of engineers working to improve every aspect of Google on a daily basis, PageRank continues to provide the basis for all of our web search tools."It sounds as though Google has ranked you lower than previously in one of their regular re-shuffles. I have found that sites often take large jumps up or down as a result of these re-shuffles.
