Default Zero links in Google

Hi folks

I have been using submitexpress.com to measure incoming links to my website. It shows that i have incoming links recognised in yahoo, msn etc but none in google.

Why is this? And how do i change it?

Google will always show a lower number of backlinks and only count the quality backlinks.

The only thing you can do is keep building your backlinks but aim for getting more quality ones rather than quantity.

I have learned from experience and from other people that Google is very mean and slow when it comes to showing up backlinks... This is why it is difficult to analyse your competitors' linking strategies - maybe this is the reason why Google is so mean.

I use Alexa toolbar to analyse my competitors' backlinks and I use MSN search box to see how many new backlinks are already showing up.

So we cannot change Google's way of beeing mean to us and not showing up our links - we have to simply accept it...

There are currently sites dominating the GOOGLE serps that have zero IBL according to G, and 0 PR.

Yet, searching in MSN/Yahoo reveals their true link count.

What does this mean ?

Google definately counts most of these links, what they show you is another story -- This message may have been cut off and the rest will only be shown to members. To become a member, click here --

Thumbs up

Yes it's true that Google shows less back links than other major SE's. And more thing it's not necessary that links shown in Google are the best ones.

Build more and more links brother. DO some Directory submissions, Article submissions and Link Building.

Suffered the same fate mate. I have hundreds in Yahoo, MSN & such, but only '3' in google, 2 of which have nothing to do with my website!

Google does recognize these inbound links and you can see this because when you check links on osswr.com it has 0 inbound links in google but a PR 3. googles new algorithm puts more emphasis on inbound links.

The people checking backlinks are webmasters and seo's so of course google doesnt want to show us everything because they dont want to help us do our job. They want it to be more natural. -- This message may have been cut off and the rest will only be shown to members. To become a member, click here --

One of the things I've learned from nmy years and years of experience about google's link counting is that it is SLOW. My domains which have existed for many years are reasonably well represented by Google, but not so for the newer domains.

I have found the same is true of images, only those that have been around for years and have good alt tags, show up in their image search.

This may be just because the web is so big and only so much crawler resources are available, but it also may be that Google does this intentionally to minimize dead links by only listing content that has shown long-term stability. -- This message may have been cut off and the rest will only be shown to members. you should wait till the time google backlink update happens. It may clear the things. Also, yahoo and google always show different inbound link counts -- This message may have been cut off and the rest will only be shown to members. To become a member, click here --
