reciprocal links

hello all
I have a discussion with my friend regarding reciprocal linking importance.He is telling like after Jagger Update google giving no importance of Reciprocal link building only it is giving importance to inbound & 3 way linking. Is it correct..I got confused..because the reciprocal linking will have more importance than 1 & 3 way link building.

Hi, I think 3 way linking is spammy and should be avoided at all costs, Google now gives less weight to a reciprocal link, but still some, one-way are by far the best but can be very hard to obtain.
