link to related trusted sites??

I have a 4-5 months a free press release submission site. I heard about the idea to link to trusted related sites from my topic site. So, I found 6 trusted related sites and start linking them from ALL my press release pages. This is a good idea to link related trusted sites?

How do you know what site is a trusted link and what is not? From what I know there is no legitimate way to tell other then an educated guess.
