on which page i place link

help wanted

I own a dir. website and i wish to place a link on another site, should i either:
send the link to the home page of my site or

send the link to the page that best suits where the links coming from, i.e
if it were a flower shop where the link were coming from should i send it to my best flower page or home page?

I think u should link it to the page about flowers as it is the most relevant and relevance is key to SEO success.

where i can get some good quality link backs or standard ones.
My site has been running now for just over 5 years with my site being around it has probably been picked up by most?
it has a pr of 4, not listed in dmoz coz there totalally nice people over there! removed my site for no reason. I get get around 66000 visitors per month and i want to increase that and get a higher pr.

where is there that i can get some good quality link backs or standard ones?

follow this;

For every targeted key phrase do:
1. Search for it with your targeted se's. Notice what pages (a) compete with yours (b).
2. For every competing page (a): search for all pages that link to it (c).
3. For every linking page (c) that's not already linking to a: Review that site. What's it about? What links are they apparently interested in? What can you do for them? Then send a nice personal e-mail with the kind request to link to b on c.
