I have just launched my link campaigning and i does not have an iota of an idea who to link to. I am a webdesigner that offers hosting & domain registration. No need to get worried because there are a large number of webhosting ranking sites. You should start by getting listed in as many of those as you can. Further, try any local associations like your chamber of commerce or whatever. You can also call ur datacenter and request for a link.

I also get caught up in similar sought of situations, then i pretend as an SEO and backtrack my competitors inbound links - getting links from the places that other top ranking sites have them from is as good a place as any to start.
