URL selection for backlink

I want to know for which url should i get backlink for

www.domain.com
www.domain.com/index.html
domain.com
domain.com/index.html

also, suggest which url should i submit to directories and search engines and does this make any difference.

If i were in your position, i would select
http:/ /www.domain.com
unless you want someone to link to a specific sub page. Consistency is the name of the game here. I would not also include file names when linking to the home page because your file structure could change down the road .

It doesn't matter as long as you are consistent as anastasia said. Every link on your own site to the home page should use whichever one it is you're requesting links to.

I have changed every homepage link on my website to http:/ /www.mydomain.com
but all the other links on my website is
http:/ /mydomain.com/cheap-fruits.html without www.
does that make any difference that my homepage links are in the format http:/ /www.mydomain.com and all the other links are in the format mydomain.com/link.html without www .

i am new to this forum but can help u on this subject. Buddy, it does make a difference. You'll want to make them consistent everywhere, wouldn't u? Either with or without the www. My personal choice would be with www.
