Google Sitemaps, Good or no effect ?

Hi
I submitted my sitemap 10 days back, it was indexed within a day.
the site hasnt been crawled till now.

has sitemap for google helped you in any way ?

Can anyone suggest something on this ???

Google Sitemaps help to get the website indexed and its better for google crawler.

robots.txt is a simple file and there is nothing like it to perform better or bad.
googlebot or any other SE bot will just obey what you have written in that.

its good even if you dont use it, but it is helpful only in case u want to hide certain directories.

it helped me to get my classifieds website getting indexed completely.
but this happened after 20 days of submission of sitemap.

i have got very good results with google sitemaps

they surely help a lot with site indexing.
