Default Google loss is yahoo gain

Hi guys

I thought i wouldn't be saying this, but Google for the first time in a long time has lost search engine market share by a little more then 1%. The interesting news is that Yahoo gained search engine market share. Could this spell trouble for Google?

I can see why people search from Google since google is now a verb, but why would people search from Yahoo!. I use my.yahoo.com everyday but when I search I google. I suppose some people have cobranded home pages with their ISP like Yahoo DSL. But what other factors get people to yahoo (verb) instead of google? -- This message may have been cut off and the rest will only be shown to members. To become a member, click here --

I'll wait to be surprised until this happens a second or third time. Google can't always be on the rise forever and Yahoo has stuck in there fairly well compared to some of the others.

cheers

I really hope Yahoo gains some more market share, so there can be a more even market. In other words if something happens to your rankings in Google, you still can survive with the Yahoo traffic. Thumbs up

I don't know what everyone else thinks but Google probably have found that a bit of the exodus is due to their recent problems with their SERPs over the last few months, I would be surprised if this decline didn't continue for at least another month or two. I know I personally have moved away from Google from time to time because the Google results are spitting out garbage. I would suggest everybody to discard G and adopt Y. -- This message may have been cut off and the rest will only be shown to members. To become a member, click here --

It's probably due to all the SEO kids doing tons of yahoo searches optimizing for YPN. -- This message may have been cut off and the rest will only be shown to members. To become a member, click here --

Grow up! colospa 1% is too less a figure. It is not even worth mentioning. -- This message may have been cut off and the rest will only be shown to members. To become a member, click here --

I'd like to see MSN start gaining some ground. I don't like yahoo's engine at all. When I want to search for something progmatic/dev/design I always reach for google. If it has to do with buying something, I turn to MSN. Yahoo just doesn't seem to give me the results i'd prefer to see when doing either of the above. -- This message may have been cut off and the rest will only be shown to members. Yup, 1% isnt much (or is it.. we're talking billions here..) but you must remember the amount of overall searches has vastly increased as well. -- This message may have been cut off and the rest will only be shown to members. To become a member, click here --

Hi all

Yes 1% is a lot when you talk about search market share. Also that 1% can be very bad news for them because that could be a sign of them loosing popularity. So next month if they loose 2% then Google should be worried, at least I would be as I am an avid Google user.

Good day -- This message may have been cut off and the rest will only be shown to members. To become a member, click here --
