Default How does Overture count relate to Google search count?

Hi

I was wondering, how does Overture search count relate to number of people who search for a given term on Google? Let's say a term has 1000 Overture count, would the Google monthly search count be the same? Twice as big? Ten times as big?

The same question could be asked for MSN search. For example, I am on first position on MSN for a search term with 4000 Overture count, but no hits at all. Not even one.

You question is excellently timed. There has been much speculation about this and many estimates, however the results have been less than accurate. Now, because of the release of the AOL sample set search optimizers and researchers have their pest opportunity yet to predict this behaviour.

Here is a recent example:

Hope that helps -- This message may have been cut off and the rest will only be shown to members. To become a member, click here --

I have also heard that google is 4-5 times more than overture. Is that correct -- This message may have been cut off and the rest will only be shown to members. To become a member, click here --

Only way is to use adwords and overture to see right search count.
Otheriwse its all hit and trial and none of them are right, relevant or related to each other.Lot of variationas are present in their figures. Best of luck -- This message may have been cut off and the rest will only be shown to members. To become a member, click here --

yahoo and google target different audiences. More tech oriented people use google, thus the difference in "click rate" is going to be higher for high tech terms. The question asked above is very difficult to answer. May be somebody else could give you exact answer........... -- This message may have been cut off and the rest will only be shown to members. there is no direct relation, only people use it to make an estimation of the traffic from G.

but i have seen that in many cases overture and G number in actual vary a lot -- This message may have been cut off and the rest will only be shown to members. To become a member, click here --

there isnt a connection, only people estimate the number of searches on Google after they make a check on overture.

Also, Google doesnt share these number, they only do in Adwords, but that isnt very much clear. -- This message may have been cut off and the rest will only be shown to members. To become a member, click here --
