new and supplemental pages

Hi frends
Quick question for everyone that's experienced supplemental status on Google SERPs:
I thought that once the kiss of death on your pages (the supplemental tag) had been through - that was it for the domain unless sold, reviewed manually by google or a you were lucky enough to get lucky.

So having seen a rise in traffic for one of my domains I checked it out to find that a massive amount of new pages had been listed (10,000 odd) - none of which had been tagged with the 'supplemental' status.

Is this is a fluke or this is a quick win before a complete wipe?

I think supplemental pages are those pages that are not linked into the thick of the site or old duplicates etc.
If your pages don't fit into these categories, I don't see any reason why they'd be permanently supplement.

I have loads of supplemental results, all of them being in sub directories I have abandoned after moving the pages or with old urls I don't use anymore.
Don't be scared of the Supplemental results tag. It doesn't seem to hurt the rest of your site at all.
