Site Removed from Google Completely

I have been working a lot on one of our main websites on which we are selling internet based products and ebooks for a long time, infact for last two years the website was having a nice ranking on all three major SE.

If I do link: www.mysite.com google shows over 2500 links

however if I do
link:www.mysite.com (no space after link I get --Your search - link:www.mysite.com - did not match any documents…blah)

Am not sure what has happened and what might be the causes for the same. but i am looking for some way to get back into Google. Anyone having any suggestions to deal with the current situation ?
should i write and email to G ?

if you think you havent done anything wrong on your website, i will suggest you to ask google about the same.
