backlink updates

I just had a question, does Google run backlink updates regularly or does it do it preiodically like the PR updates. I just noticed, via Google alerts, that my site got a couple of backlinks so i was just curious

Update can be seen only when Google change no. or backlink. We check it with link: command. But, it keeps on updating BL in backend, thats, why ranking keeps on changing daily Because a website can have different no. of BL in different Data Centers. -- This message may have been cut off and the rest will only be shown to members. yep thats right, google only shows random results of your true number of backlinks..anyway G! update backlinks quarterly. The same as PR update -- This message may have been cut off and the rest will only be shown to members. To become a member, click here --

backlinks update almost every two months.
