hello friends
I uploaded a file that was intentionally done throw an error on my site so as to test a system.
Within 2 minutes of me first pulling the file up with no links incoming from anywhere I just typed the url in but google seems to have hit the page twice as this was part of the error message I got:
User’s Browser : Mediapartners-Google/2.1

How did they know to visit this page ?
I may also add that i have Firefox's google toolbar installed in my sytem.

check if Ad Sense or Ad Words are also running with it? It some kind of bot from Fastclick or other similar providers.

Ya, dick is absolutely right because pages with adsense brings adsense bot to your page. It frequently happens with me 5-6 times a day and some of teh pages are visited by it with number of hundreds.

After I posted I realized that the page I was on "err.cfm" didn't have anything but 1 line of code on it. It redirected me to my error page, which uses my normal site template thus had the adsense code on it .
I think they have found it from readiong the referring page.

I have heard about it but still a little skeptical about it. what i heard was that if we visit a site with google toolbar on the browser google will revisit that page and like that we can make google to revisit our site by viewing it in the browser with google toolbar installed.

For adsense the googlebot will visit pretty much as soon as someone visits a page for the first time so that it can scan the content for keywords and relevant ads.
As far as toolbar is concerned in order to get pagerank displaying it has to send the URL of the page you are on back to google,its in the agreement when you sign up and confirmed on install. I assume it might then look at the page if it hasn't got any information.
