How effective is Adwords?

Just want to post some inquiry how did you find Google adwords to be effective in your site's traffic? I just wanted to know your experience about Google Adwords is it really worth paying for? Rather I can say, I was inexperienced when I first tried adwords.

I lost a few hundred dollars, but that taught me an important aspect.

i also tried to advertise, but i was paying for invalid clicks and they didnt even convert well

i had a budget of $ 2000 which i spent in 3 months, but got only one sale on my website, i dropped them and started SEO and link building instead

I don't think I will spend $2000 in adwords. I think around couple of hundred bucks. Besides it's my first time. I need to test the water first.

Adwords most of the time will drive you quality traffic and sales. I've tried it for 2 months now and the result is very effective I must say. I am not much familiar with all these but I think if you know much about anything you can get more benefits. So is the case with adwords also. First study it.

How many keywords are you allowed to have? I think one of the keys may be to have many keywords that relate to your website as possible. adwords is quite effective if used in a better way.
